T dot!

(with rules)

1) All photos must be tagged "Toronto"

2) You may only upload 1 photo per day. If you try upload more than one photo in a day, Flickr won't let you. And Flickr decides when a "day" is. So don't blame us.

3) Photos must "SAY" Toronto.

Acceptable photos include:

- Toronto landmarks
- Street photography
- Photos from Toronto Flickr meetups
- Photos from other public Toronto social events (concerts, festivals, readings, etc.). That really doesn't include a picture of you in your living room, even if your living room does have a Toronto address, and it doesn't include model shots and the like. We're pretty relaxed about what constitutes Toronto. However, it does not include Niagara Falls, Hamilton, Kingston or Windsor.

Why are you doing this?!

The reasoning behind this is not to discourage people from posting to the group pool. The Toronto group has been around almost since the beginning of Flickr. As of October 2008, we have over 50,000 images in the pool. The limit allows more of our over 4,000 members some time on the main page, and it ensures us a high-quality pool, with your best images.

Are all your Toronto pics great? Of course they are! Come back tomorrow and add another. Have more Toronto shots that aren't in the pool? If you keep them in "Toronto" sets, you can be sure that interested fellow Toronto Flickrites will be able to find them.

Meetups!!

Be sure to watch out for our Meetup threads! There's a meetup most months, usually with two threads -- an RSVP thread (we won't kick you out of the meetup if you don't RSVP, but it's helpful to have some idea of how many people to expect), and an after-the-meetup thread for your hello's and meetup photos. Sometimes we post an RFP thread as well -- a "request for proposals." Meetups are generally held during the week, on a weeknight, but exact scheduling depends on venue availability.
